Five failed pass-key attempts in a row puts the device into a 15-minute cooldown. Ten failed attempts triggers an auto-lock — the device must be unlocked by an Owner from the Control Center before it can try again. Brute-force key guessing is mathematically and practically impossible.

A stolen device is a contained device. The Owner can issue a remote panic-wipe from the Control Center — every cached record, every photo, every signature, every saved key on that device is destroyed within seconds of the next sync. 4-Stage Licence Protocol

Every licence flows through a four-stage protocol before any client device can read or write production data. Each stage requires its own pass key, issued separately by Iber. The stages are cryptographically bound to each other — spoofing one stage without the others is detected at boot. Every pass key in the entire IBER suite is similarly tiered: nothing in the platform unlocks without the right key at the right gate. The detailed protocol structure is shared under MNDA with technical reviewers only.

Three-tier release chain in the Lab Portal — Lab Tech → Supervisor → Manager — with digital signatures, pass-key confirmation and signature-ID hashing on every sign-off. The credential we use to support you (the Owner Master Key) is structurally incapable of issuing a digital signature. Every signature is authored by a Lab Tech, Supervisor, Manager or Quality Officer inside your laboratory. The platform refuses Owner sessions at the modal and logs the refusal — auditor-ready evidence that vendor support cannot have authored a report.

A dedicated, independent QMS reviewer with their own pass key and own audit-log fingerprint. Reviews CAPA, method validation, control charts and competency records — does not analyse samples and does not release reports. Pass keys are entered in a way that browser password managers cannot detect, save, or autofill. Microsoft Edge will never sync a corporate pass key to a Microsoft account. Chrome will never offer to remember it. Safari Keychain will never see it. POPIA and corporate IT policies that forbid third-party credential storage are honoured by construction.

Every app verifies its own code has not been tampered with at every page load. A live page-hash check compares against a known-good fingerprint. Pass — the app continues. Pass keys for the lab team are minted by Iber, then allocated by the Manager from a sealed vault — the Manager never sees the raw key value.
